What is Coenzyme (Q10)? What’s Useful?

Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10), oil-soluble composed of a crystalline powder in its pure form vitaminine it is a similar molecule. In the human organism, this enzyme is within the mitochondria energy acting as an electron carrier for its production, it plays an important role in the respiratory chain.

Primary dietary sources of CoQ10’ include fatty fish (such as salmon and tuna), organ meats (such as liver) and whole grains. Most people get enough CoQ10 through a balanced diet. But supplementation can be beneficial for people with certain health problems. CoQ10 is available as a supplement in a variety of forms including soft gel capsules, oral spray, hard shell capsules and tablets. A typical dose of CoQ10 is supplements of 30 to 90 mg per day taken in divided doses. However, the recommended amount can be up to 200 mg per day. CoQ10 is fat-soluble, so it is better absorbed when taken with a meal that contains liquid or solid fat. Side effects of CoQ10’ include diarrhea and redness. CoQ10’ has not been proven to be safe in pregnant or breastfeeding women or children.
