Steps:

  • Boil the onion peel: Put about 3 cups of water in a stainless steel pot and combine the onion peel with water and vinegar and use a spoon to stir, and leave it until it reaches the boiling point.
  • Once the mixture boils, leave it to boil over low heat and cover the pot for at least 30 minutes.
  • After it is left on low heat, you can turn off the temperature and start filtering the mixture into a measuring cup and using a strainer, leave it to cool. It is not preferable to leave it until it cools completely, it can only become lukewarm.
  • Using a spoon, the eggs are transferred to the measuring cup and left inside the cup until the water covers all the eggs you have. You may need to add a little water if necessary.
  • Leave the eggs to soak in the dye for at least 30 minutes, or up to one hour, and the longer the soaking, the darker they become.
  • Remove the eggs from the dyeing cup using a spoon and leave to cool on a wire rack.
  • After the eggs are dry and cool enough to handle, you can use a few drops of olive oil and a paper towel to polish. Now you can keep the eggs in the fridge until they are eaten, you can leave them for up to a week.

Ingredients :

  • white eggs
  • Onion peel as large as possible.
  • Rubber bands or strings.
  • A thin piece of cloth such as cheesecloth.
  • A container with a tightly closed lid to boil eggs.

Roll each egg in a large onion peel.
