How to relieve a migraine?

While migraine is often mild, this condition can turn into a real ordeal when you do not know the right behaviors to adopt. Here are several remedies to say goodbye to migraines!

CALM, A NATURAL REMEDY AGAINST MIGRAINE

While it is difficult to anticipate a migraine attack, there are things you can do to help ease it. So, when the pain assails you, don’t hesitate to lie down and protect yourself from noise and light which can be aggressive.

AN ANTI-MIGRAINE MASSAGE

Massage can be particularly effective in treating migraines. When you start to feel pain, do not hesitate to massage the underside of your eyes and eyebrows as well as your hairline. The energy will circulate more freely and you will feel an immediate well-being.- Gently massage the head with the middle finger and the index finger in circular motions. Pressure points at the base of the skull, in the middle of the forehead (between the eyebrows), and at the corners of the eyes when properly squeezed, relieve pain.

– Heat two teaspoons of sesame oil. Mix with ½ teaspoon of cinnamon and ½ teaspoon of cardamom. Apply this preparation on the forehead and massage. Leave to dry for a few hours.

COLD TO FIGHT MIGRAINE

It is well known that the cold has the particularity of reducing pain. When you are in the throes of a migraine attack, feel free to wrap ice cubes in a towel and apply it to your head.

– Wrap a few ice cubes in a towel and place the pack against the temples and / or the back of the neck for 10 to 15 minutes.

– You can also alternate with hot and cold compresses, leaving for 15 minutes each time. For best results, pour a few drops of lavender or mint essential oil on the compresses.

ANTI-MIGRAINE FOOD

Certain drinks, such as coffee, tea or cola can reduce migraine pain. Sugar also offers good results if it is consumed at the onset of the seizure. Finally, on the plant side, don’t skimp on peppermint and feverfew, whose analgesic properties are surprising!

Here are some natural home remedies that will give you relief and help prevent:

Apple cider vinegar

A true nutritional powerhouse, apple cider vinegar helps reduce migraines thanks to the following properties: it is detoxifying, regulates blood pressure, controls blood sugar levels, helps in weight loss and relieves constipation.

– Pour a teaspoon of organic apple cider vinegar in a glass of water.
– Mix with a teaspoon of honey.
– Drink every day preventively and to treat migraines.

Mint

The anti-inflammatory properties of mint help calm the nerves. In addition, it has an antispasmodic and calming effect.

– Just drink mint tea with honey.
– You can also massage your temples with a mixture of essential oils of lavender and mint. Leave for 20 to 30 minutes. Repeat several times a day until you are relieved.

Cayenne pepper

Cayenne pepper is a great home remedy for migraines because it stimulates and improves blood circulation. Plus, it contains capsaicin, a compound that acts as a natural pain reliever.

– Mix half a spoonful of cayenne pepper in a glass of hot water.
– To improve the taste, you can add lemon juice and honey.

Chamomile

Chamomile has anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic and analgesic properties that relieve migraine. Drinking it regularly can help prevent the problem. Use German chamomile, you will get better results.

– Infuse two or three teaspoons of dried chamomile flowers in a cup of hot water for a few minutes. You can add lemon juice and honey. Drain and drink three or four times a day to relieve you of migraine symptoms.

– Alternately, prepare a herbal tea by infusing equal amounts of chamomile, meadowsweet and white horehound in a cup of hot water for at least five minutes. Drink as often as needed.

Ginger
