If you have curly hair, stay away from these ingredients in your hair care products

There are many, many ingredients that are sweeping hair care products, and each ingredient has a different function. But if you are the owner of curly hair in particular, then you will most likely have difficulty sometimes finding the perfect product and ingredients for your curly tresses, which praises their shape and nourishes them. First of all, there are some ingredients that you should stay away from completely to include maintaining long curly hair, and in this article we will introduce you to them.

Ingredients that damage curly hair

1- sulfate

Sulfates, specifically sodium laureth sulfate, are included in shampoo products that cause foaming, which suggests that the product is effective and cleans hair well. But in fact, this substance negatively affects the hair as it strips the strands of natural oils, causing hair breakage and leading to hair loss. Hence, this substance harms the health of curly hair as well as its appearance, as it reduces frizz due to stripping the hair of the beneficial oils that make the curly strands healthy.

2- Parabens

This substance is among the chemicals that are included in the composition of shampoo products to preserve them and avoid the formation of bacteria. But it negatively affects the health of the hair, as it irritates the scalp and strips the hair of its useful oils, and thus the curly strands gather on each other and do not appear defined and healthy.

3- silicone

The silicone that enters the shampoo gives the hair a soft look, and therefore it is not useful for curly hair and can reduce the waves as it helps to smooth the hair. In addition, it damages the strands at times, as this substance envelops the hair and prevents it from benefiting from any oil bath or other ingredients, which damages the strands and makes them unhealthy. In addition, silicone does not dissolve in water, so it is difficult to get rid of it, as it remains stuck in the hair, which leads to weak strands, breaking and falling over time.

4- Salicylic acid

It is true that salicylic acid is one of the ingredients that nourishes the skin as well as the hair, but if you have curly hair, it is not for you at all. This acid moisturizes the strands from the depths and helps to soften them as well as smoothing the strands, from here, it does not serve the waves of your hair, but rather makes the styling process more difficult.

5- Perfumes

It is true that chemical perfumes give hair a sweet and beautiful smell, but they do real damage to the hair. These substances affect the production of the hormones estrogen and testosterone, and this leads to weak hair and causes it to fall out.

6- Synthetic waxing

The hair wax formula helps to enhance the hair style, as its viscous formula makes it easy to apply it to the hair strands, thus obtaining a beautiful and stable hairstyle that lasts throughout the day. Hair wax is ideal for controlling frizzy and coarse hair, as it helps to hold the style and provide a shine that does not change throughout the day. However, if this product is synthetic, it will cause the hair to dry out, increase coarseness and ruin the natural waves.

7- Mineral oils

These oils are present in many hair care products, and they work to form a protective layer for the outer part of the strands, as well as add luster to the hair and enhance its density. However, despite its benefits, it is not recommended to resort to mineral oils. Why? Because it leads to dry hair, irritation of the scalp and thus will ruin the appearance of curly strands, as dry wavy hair looks like fluffy
