Many factors can make lips darker in color. Smoking, pollution and sun damage, for example, can negatively affect the appearance of your lips. Fortunately, there are many home remedies that may help lighten lips.
Method 1 of 3:
Preventing dark lips
Moisturise your lips. Damaged, dry lips may appear dark.
Use a good quality lip balm.
Choose products for lips with moisturizing ingredients like shea butter, cocoa butter, and almond oil.
Shea butter has been used since ancient times and is known for its antioxidant and moisturizing properties.
Cocoa butter often reduces discoloration caused by scars.
Almond oil is considered one of the best oils for improving the health and appearance of the skin.
Use sunblock. Protect your lips as you protect the rest of your body.
Lips do not get tan, but they may burn and become dry, resulting in a darker appearance.
Make sure your lip balm contains SPF20 or more.
Use a lipstick with SPF 20 as well.
Quit smoking. Smoking can color your lips.
Cigarettes contain nicotine, which can make your lips darker.
Tobacco and tar also darken the flanges.
The heat from cigarettes may cause you to produce more melanin (which protects from the sun) and darken your lips
Method 2 of 3:
Massage and peeling
Massage your lips. Massages can increase blood flow and polish your lips.
Massage your lips with almond oil every night before going to bed to deeply hydrate.
Massage your lips with ice cubes to moisturize and make them look full and pink.
Exfoliate your lips. Remove dead skin with a simple sugar scrub.
Make a sugar scrub by mixing 1 tablespoon of white or brown sugar with enough honey or olive oil to make a paste.
Rub the mixture gently on your lips.
After a minute, wipe it with a wet towel.
Follow with a soothing lip balm.
Repeat twice a week. If an infection occurs, reduce the number of times a week or rub more gently.
Use a pomegranate lip scrub. Pomegranate makes your lips more rosy
Mash a tablespoon of pomegranate seeds and mix with yogurt to make a paste.
Rub it on your lips.
Leave it on for a few minutes, and then rinse it off. Repeat as desired.
Do not continue if an allergy occurs.
Method 3 of 3:
Lightening with food
Use lemon juice. Lemon juice is known to lighten the skin.
Rub a few drops of lemon juice before going to bed every night.
Use freshly squeezed lemon juice.
Rinse it off in the morning with warm water.
Use potatoes. Potato has been used to lighten the skin, including reducing the appearance of scars.
Potatoes contain catecholase, a naturally occurring enzyme known to reduce darkening of the skin.
Rub a slice of potato on your lips before going to bed.
Do not rinse.
Wash with warm water in the morning.
Use beet roots. Beet roots stain the lips pink.
Apply 2-3 drops of beet root juice to your lips.
Do not rinse.
Repeat daily
4
