Five health benefits of green lemon

Green lemons are sweeter than yellow lemons, with a distinct flavour. These are 5 benefits of lime.

1- Green lemons are good for women’s health: These citrus fruits contain calcium and folic acid and are important nutrients for post-menopausal women and women of childbearing age. A fresh green lemon contains 22 mg of calcium and more than 5 micrograms of folic acid.

2- Green lemon peels combat skin aging: Citrus peels contain an inhibitor of the production of melanin pigment. With age and exposure to ultraviolet rays, melanin – which gives the skin its color – accumulates and is deposited as dots on the skin. By treating the skin with a mask that contains a small portion of green lemon peels, it may reduce the increase in these colors and pigments in the skin.

3- Green lemons are anti-cancer: The limonoid compounds found in limonoids have been shown to prevent colon, stomach, and blood cancer. Since its method of action is unknown, researchers noticed that lemonade antioxidants cause the killing of cancer cells. Lemonade also remains effective for a long time in the blood, eliminating larger amounts of free radicals compared to green tea or dark chocolate.

4- Green lemon juice may prevent the formation of kidney stones: fresh or concentrated green lemon juice contains a greater amount of citric acid compared to orange or grapefruit juice. Limonic acid is a natural inhibitor of kidney stones made from calcium crystallization.

5- Green lemons may reduce cholesterol: The main flavonoid in green lemons is called hesperidin. It has been shown to reduce the level of cholesterol and triglycerides in animals fed a diet full of cholesterol.
