Eating 3 pieces of white bread daily increases the risk of obesity

 

A Spanish nutrition expert found that eating 3 pieces of white bread a day greatly increases the risk of being overweight or obese.

 

The British Independent newspaper reported that Miguel Martinez Gonzalez from the University of Navarra in Spain, scrutinized data related to the consumption of bread by more than 9,000 university graduates.

 

 

 

It turned out that people who ate white bread and bread made from whole grains were more likely to gain weight and suffer from obesity.

 

It also turned out that those who ate 3 or more pieces of white bread per day were more likely to gain additional kilograms and even suffer from obesity by 40%, compared to those who ate one piece of bread per day.

 

Gonzalez explained that white bread is made from a type of flour that is absorbed by the body very quickly in the form of sugars.

 

He recommended eating a variety of whole grain bread, considering that what the body absorbs from white bread quickly turns into fat.

 

It is noteworthy that this study was presented at a European conference on obesity held in Bulgaria.
