Here’s what I’ve discovered lately – I love sunflower butter! As in, can’t-get-enough, it’s-all-I-want-to-eat love. When I was doing the elimination diet (read more about that here), nuts were off the table…but seeds weren’t. Even now that nuts are back for me, I’m still making – and scarfing down – this sunflower seed butter! While I’ve never been one to eat peanut butter from the jar, there’s a particular vanilla almond butter that had become a staple in my diet. I was missing it. I searched for a sunflower butter but couldn’t find one that I liked. Also, I don’t like “runny” nut…

Ready. Set. BAKE! I have a classic (or what I have concluded is a classic from watching the GBBO obsessively) British dessert to share with you today – a Bakewell Tart! *this recipe is sponsored by my friends at Imperial Sugar While there are a few steps to making the tart, they’re not complicated and come together quite easily. A buttery and sweet tart shell is filled with jam, frangipane (almond cream), and then topped with a sugar glaze. The word that came immediately to mind after my first bite was “magnificent.” Guys, it really is. It’s magnificent. I made…

Cereal is about to take a backseat. Sorry, oatmeal. You’re out, too. This breakfast grain bowl is everything you want for breakfast…warm and comforting, sweet and nutty, healthy and satisfying. Although I started making these for breakfasts, I probably now eat them for lunch most often. Each and every spoonful is a treat. One of my favorite things about this breakfast bowl is that I can’t scarf it down mindlessly like a bowl of cereal or a carton of yogurt. This is a MEAL. It’s chewy and crunchy – and substantial. And after eating it, I don’t feel overly…

This is a little “inside Bake at 350 baseball,” but several years ago, I decided that if I posted a savory recipe, I’d host it on a different site. The site was linked here and looks exactly the same, but the URL was different. Confused? Me, too. Long story long, I’ll be bringing those recipes over here, so if one looks familiar, you’re not losing your mind. Well, maybe you are, but it doesn’t have anything to do with the recipe. Ha. Without further ado, my favorite tortilla soup… We were not a family of soup-eaters. Maybe because I grew…

Pecan pie energy balls. Pecan pie energy bites. Pecan pie protein balls. Pecan pie truffles. Whatever you want to call them, these nutty, crunchy, creamy little nuggets pack the rich vanilla, pecan pie taste all in one bite. (Ok, maybe two.) Filled with all of the good stuff, I reach for these when I want a treat, when I want something sweet, when I need a little pick-me-up…when I remember they’re waiting for me in the fridge. Um, I guess you can say, I’ll take any excuse to have another. You may remember these Spiced Pumpkin Energy Balls. LOVE them. I might…

We’re saying goodbye to 2021 and hello to a beautiful 2022 with a Chocolate Coffee Cheesecake. A Chocolate Coffee Cheesecake covered in glossy ganache and gold flecks because we’re feeling fancy – even if we’re in PJs watching The Office. Again. This cheesecake is intensely chocolate with a layer of silky ganache on top. The coffee flavor is subtle – I dare say you could serve it to a “coffee hater,” and they’d just think it was chocolate. Buttery and sweet with just a hint of salt, the crust is a perfect match to the light and fluffy chocolate cheesecake…

Flavorful and tender, these crockpot chicken tacos are topped with pickled red onions for a bright zippiness. Whether you call it a crockpot or a slow cooker, you’ll want this recipe for an easy Taco Night! Don’t tell the tacos, but this chicken is also perfect for bowls, burritos, and nachos! *the recipe was created for my friends at Imperial Sugar We live in Texas and are therefore contractually obligated to eat tacos on a regular basis. We do not complain. These tacos are now in our regular taco rotation. And almost nothing makes me happier than knowing I have leftover…

Parfait is a dessert we don’t eat nearly enough. It’s just fun to say – parfait! I have very vivid memories of ordering frozen yogurt parfaits at TCBY in the 1980s. I know the idea was to layer the froyo with fruit and nuts. My parfaits were strictly combinations of chocolate yogurt and hot fudge. This is what they call being “on brand.” *this recipe was created for and sponsored by Imperial Sugar What is a parfait? Parfait in French means “perfect.” The dessert parfait originally was layers of fruit and syrup with ice cream, but today, you might see pudding,…

This week, we review Trader Joe’s Synergistically Seasoned Popcorn. I grabbed the bag as soon as I saw it – the graphics are so fun and cheerful. And y’all, I’m the daughter of a popcorn aficionado…and purest. My dad is not a fan of flavored popcorns (I am, though!), but he sure taught me the proper way to pop it on the stove.
