Acne is a skin condition caused by the overproduction of oils on the skin. This excess oil and skin debris builds up under the hair follicles, trapping bacteria inside.
Pimples usually appear on the face and neck and affect all areas of the body. Acne appears as inflamed bumps. There are other causes of acne, such as stress, hormonal changes, excessive sweating, and even poor hygiene.

Is garlic useful for acne? how?

A video clip spread on Tik Tok, of a famous makeup expert who claims to have found the perfect way to get rid of pimples, and she said it is garlic. In the video, the expert is seen rubbing a piece of garlic on a pimple on her chin.

Although there are no studies to confirm the benefits of using garlic for acne, garlic does have some properties that can help treat acne. Here’s how garlic helps treat pimples:

1- Anti-microbial

This powerful, delicious ingredient is rich in antimicrobials. It contains compounds that hinder the growth of certain bacteria and fungi, which can help treat some conditions. These compounds may also be able to fight acne-causing bacteria, making garlic useful for pimples.
Studies have found that garlic’s antimicrobial properties are all due to a chemical known as allicin. Allicin is known to inhibit the growth of Streptococcus epidermidis, a type of acne-causing bacteria.

2- Anti-inflammatory

One factor that facilitates acne growth is inflammatory cytokines. To combat these inflammation-promoting molecules, garlic, which is rich in anti-inflammatories, can be used.

3- Helps heal wounds

When applied to the skin, garlic has wound-healing properties. It has been found that garlic helps treat skin diseases such as psoriasis, corns and fungal infections on the skin. It may also help prevent scarring that causes acne.
