Donuts with orange

Flour: 3 cups and a quarter

Baking powder: 2 tsp

Salt: a quarter of a teaspoon

Eggs: 2 pieces (scrambled)

Sugar: two-thirds of a cup

Vanilla: 1 teaspoon

Orange zest: 1 teaspoon

Orange juice: two-thirds of a cup

Butter: 1/4 cup (melted)

How to prepare

In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder and salt.

In another bowl, beat the eggs, sugar and vanilla until light cream.

Mix orange zest, orange juice and butter in a plate.

Add the orange mixture to the flour mixture, alternating with the egg and sugar mixture, while mixing until a smooth and homogeneous dough is formed.

Cover the dough and leave it to rest for two hours.

Spread the dough on a floured surface and slice the donuts to a medium thickness.

Heat copious oil in a deep frying pan and fry the donuts, then put it on a plate on kitchen paper to get rid of the excess oil.

To prepare the topping: Mix sugar, orange juice and orange zest well until the mixture becomes smooth and creamy.

Dip the donut face with the topping mixture or spread it in stripes as desired and serve.
