The German Association for Gastroenterology said that vomiting blood raises the alarm, as it warns of serious diseases.
The association explained that vomiting blood may indicate infection as follows:
Gastritis, stomach and duodenal ulcers, esophagitis, esophageal varices, rupture of the lining of the esophagus (Mallory-Weiss syndrome). Vomiting blood may also indicate cancer such as esophageal cancer, stomach cancer, or lung cancer. Source of bleeding
The association added that depending on the source of bleeding, it may be accompanied by other symptoms such as:
Nausea Cough Abdominal pain Circulatory shock Irregular heartbeat Shortness of breath Low blood pressure Pale skin Cold sweat
In any case, bloody vomiting requires calling the emergency room to undergo immediate aid, conducting the necessary medical examinations to determine the real cause behind it, and undergoing timely treatment.
