Various information about the Korean face mask!

Korean women follow an extensive routine consisting of 10 to 12 steps to maintain the youthfulness and health of their skin. It may seem exaggerated, but there is a reason behind every step.

Using a paper mask is considered one of the steps (usually step number 7) and it is recommended to do this twice a week instead of every day. If the 12-step Korean skincare routine seems a bit daunting, using a Korean sheet mask might be the perfect step to start with, as it offers you maximum results with minimal effort.

What are Korean face masks?

A face mask is traditionally applied like all other skincare products – you simply take it out of the package and put it on your face. After applying it, leave it on your face for 30 minutes, then wash it off. You may only know them as paper masks, but they actually originated in South Korea, which is where the name “Korean face masks” comes from. It is made from a piece of cotton (although brands are now innovating new materials) with openings for the eyes and mouth just like a real mask!

What types of Korean face masks are available, and which one should I use?

Regardless of your skincare needs, there is a sheet mask that suits you. Everyone’s skin can benefit from some extra hydration, so the hyaluronic acid mask is sure to be a hit with everyone. If your skin is dry, the cream mask will make your skin soft and supple.

Oily skin types may prefer clay masks, which will remove impurities from your skin and eliminate dead skin cells. As a result, your skin will be firmer and your pores smaller, so try the pink clay mask. If you have sensitive skin, the cooling sensation provided by the gel mask will soothe your skin. One of the special ingredients to look for is hyaluronic acid, which brings moisture to the surface of your skin, making it plumper and more radiant.

Egg masks contain collagen and protein, which will tighten your skin, while milk masks are rich in lactic acid, an excellent exfoliant.
