Experts advise: Beware of taking 3 medicines in the morning

A report on a health website revealed three types of drugs that should be avoided in the morning and the reasons behind this, taking into account consulting a doctor before taking any step.

According to the report; When the doctor prescribes the medicine, the prescription for treatment includes the dose and dates of taking the medicines, which confirms that the time of taking the medicine is exactly as important as the medicine and its dose.

Taking the medicine at the wrong time can make you feel sleepy throughout the day, so taking this medicine in the morning is not the best idea if you want to enjoy your day. Some doctors also advise not to drive after taking certain medicines.

The report clarified three types of medications that should be avoided in the morning, namely:

Blood pressure medication

Methili Chonduro, a professional pharmacist, explained that high blood pressure can lead to heart disease, stroke and kidney disease.

Blood pressure naturally decreases in the evening and among patients with high blood pressure, there may be no decrease at night; Therefore, it is preferable to take blood pressure medications once a day in the evening; This allows for a regression that reduces the risk of heart failure and stroke.

Antihistamines

Pharmacist Katie Rokowish reported that Diphenhydramine, an antihistamine, is used to treat allergy symptoms.

He explained that for most individuals, this drug causes central nervous system depression; Which causes drowsiness, sedation, fatigue, lack of concentration and poor memory.

He also emphasized that if it is required to be taken during the day (ie to treat severe allergic reactions), one should be careful and watch for sedative effects.

He said it is best to take it before bed because it can make you feel very sleepy and to avoid taking it in the morning, because it may impair your ability to drive or work during the day.

– Melatonin

Dr. Rockawish explained that melatonin is a hormone that the brain produces in the dark to aid sleep.

He added that melatonin is being used as a supplement to treat sleep disorders and also experimentally in combination with chemotherapy or radiation in patients with solid tumors.

It should not be taken in the morning because it causes drowsiness and confusion.

According to Dr., “Melatonin is a hormone produced by the body to signal sleep. Its production can be inhibited if you are exposed to light at night. Melatonin levels drop in the morning, allowing you to wake up.”

He continued, “The supplement is used to help treat insomnia. It is best to avoid taking it in the morning because it can make you groggy.”
