The German “Haute.de” portal reported that digital aging means the appearance of wrinkles in the skin due to the use of electronic devices.
The German portal explained that electronic devices such as smartphones and tablets emit a blue light that prevents the secretion of the hormone “melatonin”, known as the sleep hormone.
When this hormone is lacking, recovery and regeneration processes do not occur in the body, and very aggressive oxygen molecules are created, which destroy the structure of cells, cause the skin to lose elasticity and lead to the appearance of wrinkles on it, especially in the cheeks and chin.
The skin becomes dry and suffers from redness and irritation, and in addition to this, tear sacs arise.
To avoid these severe consequences, digital devices should be kept away from at least 30 minutes before bed, and care products containing a blue light protection cream should be used.
