Benefits of fenugreek seeds

The ingredients of Indian curry include fenugreek seeds, and although they are not as popular as mustard and their taste is not as strong as other spices, fenugreek seeds have countless benefits for the body.

The scientific name of fenugreek seeds is “Trigonella foenum-graecum” and the first word of the name means triangle, which is the shape of fenugreek flowers. While most articles talk about the benefits of cooking foods and seeds, here we will talk about the benefit of soaking fenugreek seeds.

All you have to do is soak two or three teaspoons of fenugreek seeds in half a cup of water and leave it overnight. In the morning, you can drink fenugreek water and eat the seeds.

And if you forgot to soak the fenugreek seeds the night before, don’t worry. Just put the seeds in boiling water and let them sit for 15 minutes before eating them.

Soaking fenugreek seeds has two benefits. Firstly, it helps extract the nutrients present in the fenugreek. Secondly, it makes the grains softer so that they are easier to digest. Here are some of the health benefits of eating fenugreek:

Fenugreek seeds help increase appetite and at the same time strengthen the digestive system. They are very useful in treating constipation because they contain fiber. They are also useful in case of diarrhea because their peels absorb the water present in the stool.

Fenugreek helps stabilize blood sugar levels in patients with moderate diabetes, and it works on insulin resistance, and it works to reduce the level of bad cholesterol, and it contains a choline compound that works to eliminate the accumulated fats in the arteries.

3- Weight loss:

It is said in Indian medicine that fenugreek seeds have heating properties, and this property helps in maintaining or losing weight.

4- Aging:

Fenugreek seeds contain antioxidants that protect the body’s cells from oxidative substances and thus delay aging.

5- Reproductive health:

Fenugreek seeds help boost libido for both men and women, and fenugreek has been used to treat premature ejaculation and low libido in men.
