Let’s say that this month all the miseries happen to you suddenly: your car breaks down, your washing machine no longer runs, the youngest daughter’s driving lessons and the canteen bills have to be paid. In short, there is no longer any question of buying the care creams you dreamed of yesterday.
And yes, beauty products are not cheap! Fortunately, from make-up to skincare, we give you some tips to pamper yourself without breaking the bank.
Besides luxury creams and overpriced make-up, a ton of good deals are available to you. DIY is not only trendy but it also saves money. The good idea? Make your own care using simple ingredients you already have at home or find a duplication of basic beauties that have been squatting your toiletry bag for ages. For example, did you know that your mascara is a great eyeliner base and that you can easily turn sugar into a scrub? And yes, taking care of yourself, in the end, doesn’t have to be expensive. On the contrary ! If you try these tips you will see that your beauty budget will halve.
1. Use your lipstick as a blush
Yes we know, it’s not highly recommended, but it’s still super practical. Pat the stick of rouge with your finger and apply some color to your cheekbones, stretching towards the temples. Be careful, especially dose well or you risk ending up with scarlet cheeks. Before a night out, it’s the perfect little tip to make you look good.
2. Remove make-up with olive oil
Pour a little oil in the palm of your hand before applying it to the face, then massage gently in order to dissolve the make-up. Be careful, with mascara, the result is a bit messy. Then remove well with a cotton ball without rubbing and rinse with thermal water (or tap). A word of advice: if your eyes are sensitive!
3. Transform your mascara into an eye shadow
Your mascara does three things. You can use it as an eyeliner by picking it up with a brush or you can mix it with a little cream for a discreet and elegant smoky eye shadow.
4. Make a honey mask
Rich in minerals and vitamins, honey has a nourishing and regenerating effect. Mix it with olive oil, you get a super effective and really inexpensive mask! Mix a tablespoon of honey and another of oil, you’re done. If you want to lighten them up, you can even add a little lemon. To you the mane of a goddess.
5. Extend the life of your mascara
Your mascara is reaching the end of its life and it tends to solidify? Immerse it in very hot water for a few seconds. It becomes fluid in a few moments.
6. Mix your reds to avoid buying a new one.
Easier and more economical, it will be hard to find. To create your own shade of red, layer two colors. At least you’re sure no one can copy you!
7. Recover to brush your eyebrows
If you too have a slightly peanut eyebrow, you better take care of it every morning. Grab an old toothbrush and spray some hairspray on them before brushing them. They will be nickels all day.
8. Apply a little lemon on a button
Press a few drops of lemon juice on a cotton ball and gently dab your button. You will see, there is nothing more effective to eradicate it. Be careful, do not apply it all over the face, it may irritate it.
9. Sugar scrub
Leave a large packet of sugar next to your bath and mix a few grains with your shower gel. It gives you a great scrub to lather up when you shower. Say yes to soft, glowing skin without spending a dime!
